Amazing Properties of Bacillus
Bacillus subtilis, HU58
The HU58 strain produces over a dozen natural antibiotic substances inside the gut. This powerful strain also produces vitamin K2 and other nutrients and plays a key role in immune system development, and has been studied for its role in reducing antibiotic-associated diarrhea in both adults and children.4,5*
Bacillus coagulans (SC-208)
B. coagulans is a potent stimulator of the immune system and also produces nutrients in the gut. It’s one of the five strains in MegaSporeBiotic that has been studied in human and preclinical research6,7 — see the Research section below for details.*
Bacillus clausii (SC-109)
One of the most widely used probiotic species worldwide, B. clausii resists being killed by antibiotics during antibiotic treatment. It also has immune stimulating properties.*
Bacillus licheniformis (SL-307)
This Bacillus strain produces bacitracin, a natural antibiotic. It aids the body to digest proteins through protease production and produces a broad spectrum of B vitamins and folic acid.*
Bacillus indicus, HU36
This proprietary strain of B. indicus stimulates the immune system and produces carotenoid antioxidants inside your gut, including beta-carotene, lutein, lycopene and the powerful antioxidant astaxanthin. It also produces vitamins and other nutrients in the gut. The unique properties of the HU36 strain allow MegaSporeBiotic to supply antioxidants directly to the GI tract, where they are best absorbed.*
MegaSporeBiotic – Healthy Gut Flora Support
MegaSporeBiotic is a probiotic that supports and reconditions the gut microbiome to help the body heal from bacterial challenges and maintain a strong immune system*. MegaSporeBiotic has quickly become our top-selling supplement and is used by thousands of healthcare practitioners and it’s become a huge favorite among families and practitioners alike.
Because MegaSporeBiotic is made from Bacillus spore-forming probiotics, they reach the digestive tract in full potency. Studies show that leading probiotic formulas containing non-spore forming bacteria like Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria are drastically reduced or completely killed by heat and stomach acids.
This powerful probiotic contains five well researched strains of Bacillus probiotics that create favorable conditions to promote the growth of your resident “healthy” bacteria, like Lactobacillus, Akkermansia and Bifidobacteria species. Studies also show MegaSporeBiotic supports a healthy gut barrier1.
True probiotics work by reconditioning the gut, meaning they make conditions better for your resident healthy gut microbes to grow and flourish. They promote a diversity of microbes, a key indicator of a healthy gut. Restoring the balance of healthy gut microbes also crowds out disease-causing bacteria.

Research Behind MegaSporeBiotic
A study published in the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pathophysiology found that MegaSporeBiotic supplementation over 30 days was associated with a 60% reduction in serum LPS (a marker linked to gut barrier permeability), reduced triglycerides, and fewer signs of inflammation, in 75 adults.1
A 2020 study published in the Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition looked at mice with a recurring C. difficile colon infection. Mice given the same five spore-forming Bacillus strains found in MegaSporeBiotic showed less gut inflammation, a stronger gut lining (a key part of gut barrier health), and better iron levels, compared to mice that didn’t receive the probiotic strains.2.
An 80-person, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial found that MegaSporeBiotic supplementation was associated with a 38% reduction in triglycerides over 12 weeks in adults with elevated triglyceride levels.3.
A clinical study of 60 adults found that Bacillus subtilis HU58 supplementation was associated with a reduction in antibiotic-associated diarrhea.4.
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 68 children found that Bacillus subtilis HU58 supplementation was associated with a reduction in antibiotic-associated diarrhea.5.
A clinical study of 90 patients with IBS found that MegaSporeBiotic supplementation was associated with improvements in IBS severity scores and quality of life, comparable to standard treatments such as the antibiotic rifaximin and a low-FODMAP diet.6.
A rat model study found that supplementation with the Bacillus spore strains in MegaSporeBiotic (combined with MegaMucosa) reduced inflammatory markers and showed protective effects on colon tissue.7.

How to Use MegaSporeBiotic
Please Follow Our Usage Guide
The bottle label instructions are for general health and wellness only. Our usage guide offers additional guidance for more significant or persistent gut challenges. Please follow our usage guide, or as directed by your healthcare provider.
Use
MegaSporeBiotic is very potent. For first time users, we highly recommend starting with less than the suggested amount listed on the bottle, to help avoid any GI discomfort. Best taken with food or right after a meal.
Follow the Probiotic Restoration Guide mentioned above, especially if you’re a first time user. Increase usage amount gradually over 2 weeks up to the full amount, or according to your tolerance.
If you experience any discomfort, including abdominal cramping or loose stools due to changes in gut bacteria, then temporarily decreasing the amount of MegaSporeBiotic should eliminate uncomfortable symptoms.
Note: Taking
Mega IgG2000 helps to mop up bacterial die-off toxins and can help reduce any discomfort you may experience. See the
Probiotic Restoration Guide above for complete details.
Precautions
MegaSporeBiotic is generally well tolerated by most people. Be sure to follow the Probiotic Restoration Guide above and start with less than the amount on the label, especially if you’re a first time user. Increase usage amount gradually over 3 weeks up to the full amount, or according to your tolerance.
Note that as unhealthy gut bacteria are crowded out, they produce toxins when they die. These toxins can cause discomforting symptoms, such as headaches, fatigue, changes in stool, and loose stools. Such symptoms mean that MegaSporeBiotic is working, but if the symptoms are too uncomfortable, reduce or stop the product until your symptoms subside. Then start again slowly, as tolerated.
Note: As mentioned above, the
Mega IgG2000 product can absorb toxins and help reduce any negative symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this help with gut recovery after antibiotics or a C. diff diagnosis?
MegaSporeBiotic is a great foundational probiotic for everyday gut health and long-term maintenance – and it’s the product our customers keep coming back for. For more significant challenges, like a C. diff diagnosis or a difficult round of antibiotics, we typically recommend it as part of a broader approach, paired with RestorFlora and Mega IgG2000 in our
Gut Restoration Pack, rather than on its own. If you’re dealing with something more serious, that combination is where we’d point you first.*
Is MegaSporeBiotic safe to take alongside antibiotics?
Yes — MegaSporeBiotic is not affected by antibiotic drugs, so it can be taken at the same time. Many doctors routinely recommend probiotics during antibiotic therapy. As always, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about your specific situation.
What should I expect when I start taking MegaSporeBiotic?
MegaSporeBiotic is generally well tolerated. Some people notice mild, temporary symptoms — like loose stools, headache, or fatigue — during the first week or two as unhealthy gut bacteria are crowded out; this is usually a sign the product is working. Starting with less than the full amount and increasing gradually (as outlined in our Usage Guide) helps minimize this, and symptoms typically ease once your gut adjusts.
